Mark Misic was born in Melbourne, Victoria, and currently lives and works in Babinda, Queensland. Before moving to Cairns, Mark worked for 15 years in regional and remote communities across the top end of Australia, including Maningrida and Darwin in the Northern Territory, and Yarrabah and Cairns in Queensland.
Mark’s paintings, drawings, photographs and video works explore strange couplings, flows and alliances that he believes occur when human physicality morphs with the primordial landscape. His art practice is informed by more than twenty years of teaching art, yoga, movement and dance. Mark has held several solo exhibitions and his work has been included in a number of group exhibitions in the Cairns region.
