Explore a unique, hands-on approach to working with acrylics with artist Maharlina Gorospe-Lockie.
Prepare to be flexible as you delve into the freedom of abstract painting while experimenting with a fun and spontaneous way to break in a blank canvas.
Painting techniques using acrylic paint and other mediums will be demonstrated before each artist will build up their painting by responding to and experimenting with mark-making (aka trial and error).
Essential art principles such as colour, line, rhythm and balance will be discussed. There is no expectation to complete a work at the end of the workshop; instead, it is hoped that participants will push the limits of their imagination and appreciate the liberating approach of creating an abstract painting.
All materials are provided, including a canvas, stretched and primed, ready to jump in and get creative.
