Tania Major Artist Talk

Exhibiting artist Tania Major will present a floor talk in her solo exhibition Kowanyama – When Rain Falls, When Earth Sleeps, her first solo exhibition at Cairns Art Gallery. 

Tania is a Kokoberra woman from Kowanyama, Cape York. She is an artist, activist and former Young Australian of the Year and was the youngest person elected to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (ATSIC) in 2004.

Join the artist and learn more about her artistic practice and how her cultural heritage and connection to Country informs the themes of her work.
