Conducted by experienced gallery staff and educators, exhibition tours are an important and enjoyable way of ensuring school children of all ages get the most out of their visit to the Gallery and its changing program of exhibitions. A range of tour options and packages are available.
The Gallery has a range of experienced artists who can provide school children of all ages with art making workshops across a broad range of media. Workshops can be packaged to include a Guided or Self-Guided tour of the exhibitions on display at the Gallery.
As part of its commitment to making the enjoyment and appreciation of art accessible to all, the Gallery has a team of experienced artist who can visit your school or day care centre, to deliver a range of hands on art making workshops specifically tailored to meet the needs of school children of all ages and with varying levels of proficiency and ability
Education resources are available for selected exhibitions throughout the year. Education Kits provide teachers with an invaluable pre-visit resource, activities during the visit and a post-visit activity work plan suitable for all levels of schooling, including early learners and, are mapped to the national curriculum.

Teachers are offered a range of professional development opportunities throughout the year. The Gallery’s Visiting Artists Program brings contemporary artists of national and international acclaim to Cairns for a series of artists’ talks throughout the year in relation to current and future exhibition projects.
