Metal Work: Leaf Letters with Kate Hunter

Join experienced metalsmith Kate Hunter to create an inspirational textured leaf letter, which can be used as a pendant, keyring, window decoration or wherever your imagination takes you.

Kate will guide you through metal stamping and texturing techniques to create a pattern or pictogram with an affirmation on a prefabricated brass disc or metal leaf of your choosing.

A pictogram is a graphical symbol that conveys meaning through its visual resemblance to a physical object. By using several pictogram stamps you can tell a little story or create a feeling by combining visual symbols.
Practice by stamping on the metal disc which may become a keyring or pet tag, then etch a message on a metal leaf, exploring it as a mantra.

Attendees are prompted to think of a single word, keeping it short to fit the prefabricated metal leaf. All tuition, tools and materials will be supplied, to explore the ancient art of pictogram and mark making on metals.

The workshop is for adults and suitable for all levels of experience. Ages 16+.
