CAG is closed on public holidays.

Paid parking is available on Shields St, Abbott St and the Cairns Esplanade. Public parking is also available on the Esplanade, access via Pier Point Rd.
Cairns Art Gallery is located 5 minutes from the Cairns City Bus Station, you can check the Cairns Translink bus to check timetables.
If you plan to cycle to CAG, you can lock your bike at the Lagoon Esplanade bike racks 100m from the Gallery. Bikes are not permitted inside the CAG.
CAG welcomes visitors of access needs.
Lifts are located on all floors of the Gallery. If you use a wheelchair you can access all our spaces.
If you need to borrow a wheelchair for use inside the Gallery, visit our front of house staff and we’ll organise one for you free of charge.
Wheelchair access bathroom available on the second floor.
Guide Dogs and registered assistance animals are welcome throughout ACMI. But only registered animals. No pets, please.
Free cloaking facilities are provided for large bags and water bottles. Bring with you what you can comfortably carry. No luggage, please.
Toilets are located on the ground and second floor. Wheelchair accessible toilets are located on the second floor and accessible via the lift.
Baby change facilities are available on the second floor.
All levels of CAG are accessible via lifts.
Conducted by experienced Gallery staff and educators, exhibition tours are an important and enjoyable way of ensuring visitors get the most out of their visit to the Gallery and its changing program of exhibitions. Gallery tours are available to all ages groups. Bookings are essential.

The Gallery welcomes school groups that are accompanied by teachers. In preparation for your visit, please visit our website for available resources, including education kits, that can make your visit to the Gallery an enriching and rewarding experience for children of all school ages.
Presented by experienced educators, guided tours are available that meet the learning needs of different aged school children, are responsive to new exhibitions on display at the Gallery, and mapped to aspects of the national curriculum. The Gallery encourages school teachers to discuss their specific requirements prior to making a booking.
