Cairns Art Gallery is housed in a Queensland Government Heritage building and will be following all Queensland Government mandates in regards to visitor restrictions.
At 80% double-dose vaccination, visitors aged 16 years and over will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or valid medical exemption to enter the Gallery, in line with the Chief Health Officer’s Directions.

Paid parking is available on Shields St, Abbott St and the Cairns Esplanade. Public parking is also available on the Esplanade, access via Pier Point Rd.
Cairns Art Gallery is located 5 minutes from the Cairns City Bus Station. Please contact Cairns Translink for timetables.
Bike racks are located on the Esplanade, 100m from the Gallery. Bikes are not permitted inside Cairns Art Gallery
CAG welcomes visitors with access needs.
Lifts are located on all floors of the Gallery. If you use a wheelchair you can access all our spaces.

Guide dogs and registered assistance animals are welcome in the Cairns Art Gallery.
Free cloaking facilities are provided for large bags and water bottles that cannot be taken into the Gallery spaces.
Toilets are located on the ground and first floor. Wheelchair accessible toilets are available on the first floor via the lift. Baby change facilities are available on the first floor.
All levels of the Gallery are accessible via lifts.
The Gallery welcomes school groups that are accompanied by teachers. In preparation for your visit, please visit our website for available resources, including education kits. These will make your visit a more enriching and rewarding experience for children of all school ages.
Presented by experienced educators, guided tours are available that meet the learning needs of different aged school children. The Gallery encourages teachers to discuss their specific curriculum needs and requirements prior to making a booking.

The Gallery Shop offers special gifts inspired by art, culture and design from Tropical North Queensland. Whether for yourself or a special person there is a huge variety of gifts from souvenirs to jewellery, books and exclusively designed homewares and works of art from the region’s creative talent. Purchases from the Shop support local artisans and makers and Shop profits support the Gallery’s Collection and programs.

As a thank you to our Members, the Gallery offers a 10% discount on all shop purchases throughout the year and invitations to our special member shopping days where members receive a 20% discount on purchases.
From 17 December 2021, proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to enter the Gallery.
